Postal asked Sean to help create two films for Brightline, in partnership with TED. We had a great time coming up with a design language and animation style to conjure this playful-yet-logical-world. Using some clever abstraction, we asked some probing questions about how businesses see themselves – and how a change in the conceptual model might spark new opportunities within.
The first film, "Metaphors Matter" used a unique isometric 3D approach – think Zaxxon and Q-Bert, all you video arcade mavens – to tell a sweeping story about the benefits of questioning how organizations see themselves. Using a simple cube as a starting point, an imaginary world builds. rebuilds, and adapts.
For the second piece, "The Right Questions," our inspiration was the clean visual language of Euclidean geometry – rational, but still evoking smiles.
